When a proposal, campaign or service link is shared in a messaging application, the first thing a visitor sees is often a small image and title. Outdated information there can create confusion. Marketing and business teams can include a short brand check at launch and after important content changes.
Compare the shared link with the page it opens
Open the exact address you plan to share in a normal browser. Does it show the intended business, service and language? If an older page redirects, does the visitor reach the content they expect? The page title, logo, contact details and enquiry actions should represent the same business. Check the campaign destination as well as the homepage.
Allow for different preview update cycles
Messaging and social platforms may retain preview information for a period. Updating a page does not mean an earlier share changes immediately. When reporting a problem, provide the exact shared address, application and observation time. If a screenshot is needed, crop out customer messages and personal information. Avoid promising a fixed time for the platform to refresh its preview.
Which checks should be included at handover?
- Approved titles, short descriptions and share images for important pages
- Checks that old addresses lead to the intended destinations
- Correct brand and language presentation on mobile and desktop
- Confirmation that enquiries reach the appropriate team
The deliverable: a short, reusable check record
Keep a simple list of checked addresses, observation dates, results and correction owners. Reuse it for new campaigns or brand changes. The result is an understandable acceptance record showing that customer-facing content matches the business approval, rather than a report of internal installation steps.
