Enterprise Software and Managed Infrastructure: Defining the Scope

How to assess workloads, responsibilities, licences and acceptance criteria when planning software, servers, security and backup together.

An enterprise technology investment starts with the business workload. User counts, concurrent operations, data volumes, existing integrations and acceptable interruption are assessed together. In its work exclusively for businesses, AIOR turns those requirements into a written software and infrastructure scope.

Size infrastructure for the application

Hosting, VPS / VDS and dedicated servers are different services. Compare CPU allocation, memory, storage type and capacity, traffic, network profile and geography separately. Germany and France options and network profiles up to 3 Gbps on eligible products are assessed by product scope; products do not all carry the same connectivity or resource commitment.

Define licences and management separately

State explicitly whether components such as cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, CloudLinux, LiteSpeed and Imunify360 are included. A panel licence alone does not constitute a managed service. The proposal defines responsibility and conditions for updates, monitoring, access management and incident response.

Make software acceptance measurable

For business portals, API integrations and workflow systems, design data ownership, permissions, error handling and change history from the start. Technology choices follow existing systems, team capability and maintenance requirements. Acceptance criteria, test scenarios and maintenance responsibilities must match the agreement.

Assess backup together with restoration

Define backup frequency, retention, excluded data and restoration procedures. Recovery point and recovery time objectives follow business needs; a backup licence alone does not demonstrate those objectives are met. Specify verification and restoration testing separately.

Before requesting a proposal

  • Existing applications, users and data flows
  • Measured resource usage and expected growth
  • Integrations and third-party licences
  • Security, access and data retention requirements
  • Acceptance criteria, support hours and maintenance scope

AIOR enterprise solutions consider custom software, managed infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI and industrial automation in the same technical assessment. Explore the enterprise solutions page and share your business requirements through the contact page.
